Carp lake
rules

  • All Arrival/Departure times are 12 Midday

  • Catch and release ONLY - Removal of fish from site will result in prosecution

  • ONLY unhooking matts, weigh slings and landing nets provided by the fishery are to be used - All such personally owned equipment is not permitted on site for biosecurity reasons NO EXCEPTIONS.

  • All rods must be of a standard suitable for specimen carp e.g. No telescopic rods, poles, match rods, small river rods or fly rods.

  • This lake is angler only (Only the ticket holder has the permission to be on the premises - Exceptions can be made with exclusive lake bookings.)

  • Minimum 15lb breaking strain main line (NOT BRAIDED)

  • No hooks bigger than a size 4 (BARBLESS OR MICRO BARBED ONLY)

  • Please take the time to research safe rigs prior to arrival, spot checks are likely because we take rig safety very seriously

  • No fixed leads

  • All nuts are banned

  • Minimum 12 inch of rig tubing (Or Naked Line Only) - Must be used on the mainline leading to the lead set up. We do not allow leadcore leaders or any other heavy line-crimped leaders

  • No zig rigs

  • No artificial baits

  • Each angler must be equipped with a Carp Care Kit. Together, us as the owners and our fellow anglers have a duty to maintain the perfect quality and condition of the carp. Carp care kits are to be applied to any open wounds, such as hook holds, ulcers, lifted scales and damaged fins. This is mandatory.

  • No 'Gill Grabbing' on any species, we understand that everyone wants to get the perfect photo of the catch, however the technique of handling/holding the fishes gills/gill flaps in an attempt to hide fingers from view is strictly prohibited for the welfare of our stock.

  • All fishing is to be done by designated swims - This includes the landing and releasing of fish (Unless unsafe to do so)

  • Avoid damaging swim decking by screwing, forcing or hammering bank sticks or pegs between boards. We do not allow the use of staged stands to be screwed on either. Bank sticks can be firmly placed in gravel with plenty of clearance over the decking.

  • No sacking fish for long periods of time, please insure all photography equipment is ready for action prior to starting.

  • All fish are to be returned by net or sling (NOT BY HAND)

  • Rods are not to be left unattended - Next swim is fine but be sensible

  • All litter is to be taken off site (This includes cigarette ends)

  • No antisocial behaviour - Intoxicated individuals will be asked to leave the premises

  • No 'normal' camping tents - Bivvy and brolly systems ONLY.

  • Well behaved dogs are welcome (although must be kept on a lead at all times and must be picked up after)

  • Any anglers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult

  • At no point should an angler deliberately break a line that has become snagged (Even if the fish appears to be off) Staff are on site 24/7 and will be more than happy to boat out and try to solve the problem. This is to prevent a build up of discarded tackle and line from spoiling the lake bed and possibly harming fish.

  • The gate must be kept closed - This prevents otter breaches.

  • All anglers must have the appropriate EA Certified license to fish this lake.

  • A plus one guest is welcome with prior arrangement. Please note: If you are wishing to hold a social event the lake must be booked exclusively.

  • All fishing must be pre-booked. Please do not enter the premises without prior arrangement, we take last minute bookings!

  • Non-fishing visits to check conditions or pre-baiting, etc must be prearranged. Our Health and Safety Policy does not allow unauthorised access at any point.

These rules are put in place for everyone's benefit as well as to look after our stock. Blatant disregard of these rules will result in anglers being asked to leave the premises or worse barred from returning.
